We were sorry to hear of Gene's passing but grateful to have known him and call him a friend! We enjoyed the time we spent with him in Morningstar - he was an inspiration to all who knew him!

Bonnie and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. He was always my favorite person at Camp Lincoln beginning the day I started as a temporary. I never passed him in the hall that he did not have a smile for me no matter how sick he was.
He was a very special person and I am honored that I got to know him.

Bonnie and Family,

Was so sorry to read of Gene's passing this morning. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family, especially Larry.
I was saddened to read the paper this morning about Mr. Blakey. He was one of the most friendly and pleasant individuals I ever worked with. From the first time I met him at the State Armory when I first started working with the Department, he was always so helpful and pleasant. He always had stories and pictures to share of his family and his dogs and horses. He will be greatly missed by all. Bonnie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Gene!
